Sweet, tangy and cooks in just 10 minutes! This easy baked salmon recipe is perfect for a quick meal and is so tasty too!

Ok so you know those recipes that are SO ridicuously easy you wonder if you can really even call it a “recipe”? Well that’s excatly how I feel about this oven baked maple bbq salmon. Not only is it just 3 ingredients (techinically 4-5 if you count the salt and pepperπ), but it also requires zero prep work AND cooks in just 10 mintues too! (Which is a huge win in my book during this hot summer season!)
Ingredients for maple bbq salmon
- Salmon fillets: Skin on or skinless salmon fillets both work for this easy recipe. (If using salmon with the skin on, just make sure to put the fillets skin side down in your baking dish.)
- Maple syrup: Adds sweetness and pairs so well with your tangy bbq sauce. (Just make sure to use the real stuff!π)
- BBQ sauce: Used as the base of your sauce. I personally love using a spicer bbq sauce for this recipe to balance the sweetness from your sryup. But feel free to use your favorite! (My favorite bbq sauce is Stubbs Sweet Heat.)
- Salt & pepper: To taste, and helps to elevate each individual flavor!

How to make oven baked salmon
This has been my go-to method for cooking salmon lately and it comes out perfect every single time! Why have I been loving salmon in the oven? Because it keeps the fillets super moist and tender while nicely charred and crisp on the outside.
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees and spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- Then pat your salmon fillets dry with a paper towel, place them in your prepared dish and season them with salt and pepper.
- Next mix your bbq sauce and maple syrup together and brush the sauce over each salmon fillet. (Don’t be afraid to really lather them up!π)
- Then place your baking dish in the oven and bake for 10 minutes. (The fillets should flake easily with a fork once they’re done.) Serve immediately with extra maple bbq sauce on the side!
Love crispy salmon? Turn your oven on to broil once the fillets are done cooking and broil them for 1-2 minutes or until they reach your desired crispiness!
Why you’ll love the baked bbq salmon recipe
- It’s super easy! Only a handful of ingredients are required for this tasty salmon recipe! Just throw them all together and let your oven do all the work!
- So flavorful! BBQ sauce on it’s own is rich and tangy, but then go and throw some maple syrup into the mix and ohh baby it’s like an explosion of sweet and tangy flavor! (Plus summer and bbq just go together, am I right?!)
- Perfect for a quick weeknight meal! Because this recipe only takes 10 minutes to bake, it’s perfect for those long work days when all you want is something fast and easy but still flavorful too! Just pair it with a simple veggie or side salad for a well balancaed meal!
- Meal prep! Salmon is one of my favorite foods to prep for during the week. You can eat it hot or cold and the maple bbq sauce helps to keep it from drying out!
